OMB is not tied to any product line. We choose the products which best suit your needs and desires. We shop for the best prices and make our suggestions accordingly. We do have favorites because we have seen some products be more reliable over time and we know that some sound better than others, and that the sound quality does not always reflect the price.

OMB likes to provide layered bids, both as consultants and as bidders. We like you to have choices and to be able to see clearly what you are getting for your money. Since we are not tied to a product line, we have no shelves of inventory to clear and consequently no incentive to persuade you to buy more than you need or something that you don’t need. Your good opinion of us is our only advertisement; it is our future.

We ask a lot of questions. We try to find out how the gear is going to be used and who will use it. We talk with the users and find out their skill levels and their desire for complexity and flexibility. We attend meetings, if invited, where the people who will make the decisions will discuss needs and budgets. Once we have enough information, we will make a series of suggestions that provide options with their relative prices. We will try to make clear what the relative advantages and disadvantages are, and we will try to give a sense of the proportion of advantage or disadvantage. We are not dogmatic. We will not try to impose our values on you, but we will not be willing to sell you junk. We have walked away from people who wanted to buy garage band junk for their sanctuary. We wanted someone else to sell it to them.

OMB will consult; we will be your advisors. We can then go on to supervise the installation and test it, giving you advice on the contractor's proposed substitutions as the project goes along. We thus function as your agents. And, we can install gear you have purchased after taking our suggestions out into the market place to find the best prices. Finally, if you trust us to do it all, we will do that too. We love installations.
